On October 12, 2019, come celebrate with us as we hitch our wagon to the same star and dance the night away!
New Years Eve 2016 and the following days culminated in Rebekkah, begrudgingly, downloading the dating app Bumble, at the behest of her long time close friend Caleb. She had been in Chicago, and Caleb and all of his friends were extolling the virtues of online dating, as they had all met their significant others through one digital avenue or another, but Rebekkah had consistently shunned dating websites and apps over the years. After three days of insistence, she gave her phone to Caleb and he basically built the entirety of her profile.
Once she was back in New York, she decided to give Bumble a skeptical try while holed up at home during one of the many blizzards pelting the city that winter. Moritz and she matched almost immediately, and started chatting. After a day or two back and forth, their common interest in photography led Moritz to propose a photo walk in Central Park, since it would be beautiful all blanketed in snow. A week later they met at the Bethesda Fountain, and proceeded to chat and take photos through the snow piled trails, eventually ambling their way back to the city streets. From there, they watched two football games and chatted for eight hours. Before the night came to a close, they were already planning for their next date, which was supposed to be a trip to The Met, but they ended up at The Women’s March instead. Needless to say, after that, they both deleted Bumble from their phones.
A little over a year later, during one of their many traveling adventures, Moritz proposed to Rebekkah high up in the Rocky Mountains, overlooking Boulder, Colorado. And, as they say, the rest is history.

In lieu of a traditional wedding registry, we have opted to create a honey fund for our honeymoon to Thailand! Though we love and appreciate the traditional gift registry, we have everything we could possibly need to make our house a home (we are in our thirties, after all)! Here you can contribute to specific adventures and experiences that we will hold in our hearts forever and specifically associate with you!
There are wonderful places all over NYC to stay! AirBnB is our favorite choice, but the following hotels are also great options:
Aside from partying your hearts out with us all weekend, the city is brimming with attractions! The Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMa, Morgan Library Museum, Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Bronx Zoo, The New York Public Library and The High Line are a few of our favorites! You can also grab a coffee and walk through Central Park, or sit and watch the entertainers at Washington Square Park! Or make the trek into Brooklyn and check out Brooklyn Bridge Park, Widow Jane Distillery, The Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Gardens!
Though we love your babies, we will not be able to allow children at our wedding except for the immediate families of the bride and groom. For those of you traveling to New York who want to bring your children along, no worries! We are happy to help you find childcare for the night of the wedding!
It's way easier than you think! Our wedding ceremony and reception are in the same place so no moving around is required! Our venue is in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, just over The East River from Manhattan. It is serviced by the E,M,G,and 7 trains at the Court Square-23 St stop. Or you can easily take a taxi or an Uber to the venue. Once you’re there, take the service elevator to the fourth floor, grab some bubbles and find a seat!
